I still maintain that 93 will get us in. The last dozen games will be tough. At the pace we have been playing, 5 wins would be wonderful but if we catch a wind, wins could be more like 7. I just don't see more than 7 wins. If McD gets back quickly and if Leon (2 games with no points) and McD get back to their mid-season forum we should be in.

Personally I don't set goals on how many points will or won't get us into the play offs (not that I disagree with your assessment telly)...……...the only goal is to make the play offs, and to do that, we just need one more point than the second wild card team...……..and there is no way we won't achieve that unless Smith and Kosk are put into quarantine for two weeks...……...and I will stand by that statement. We are in, it just depends now on where we finish to determine who we play in the first round . KH, DT, JP, GG and DS have done an amazing job given what they inherited. If I am proven wrong, I will submit my resignation from this message board .

We have all been wrong at one point or another, no one will blame you for being positive. You have shown yourself to be a passionate Oiler fan and we need more of those not less.

Thank you for that mrtea. I just sense a slightly demoralised tone on here this past few games, and it is true to say we have been outplayed in five of our last six games and heavily outshot in all of them bar the Nashville game...……..but guess what, in those six games our points haul has been under normal circumstances very good, but taking into account the number of games played, the travel involved, the introduction and bedding down of new players, and the once again "missing" Connor McDavid it has been (to me at least) outstanding. And yes, all teams have some players out, but not many mean as much to some of the other deeper teams as does Connor mean to the Oilers, and that is an undisputable fact. At any time in the season, 9 points from 6 games is outstanding. 1.5pts per game projected over a season will likely win any division wouldn't it? I think that is a fair statement to make. If before the Winnipeg, Nashville, Dallas, Chicago, Columbus and Vegas games someone had offered me 9 points from those six, I would have taken it without a second thought. OK, it hasn't been pretty, but as the old saying goes, they don't ask how, just how many . With some rest and recuperation, and with 8 games at home and just 4 on the road to come, and with the coaching staff that the Oilers have, I think we will be OK. And dare I say it, it is beginning to look like we have two goalies that might just be good enough for either to play on any given night.

Nucks winning tonight puts pressure on us but massive pressure on Flames. As long as we keep picking up points we'll be ok. At this point i honestly don't care how ugly the games are as long as we get 1 preferably 2 points out of the games. I'd rather win fugly than lose pretty
