Howdy fellas! I have just renewed the OMB Keeper League for another season! Here is the list of last years' managers. Please confirm if you are in or out for this season:
OilerPensfan97 (Commish) Rekkin74 (Co-Commish) Fogolin2 Microcell99 Bronco73 Dillan Greyone HappyHappy Hillcat OilyJetsfan Nocchi SuperDave17
As of now, we have the number of keepers set at 3 (3 skaters or 2 skaters/1 goaltender), so make sure to submit your selections by the deadline (not yet determined, but will likely be around end of September). Unconfirmed keepers will be chosen for managers by Rekk and myself just before the deadline.

Since we're here, should we start recruiting early from Reddit? We know we'll be short at least one or two in each league.
And I'd love nothing more than for once to finally play in a full house where everybody's all in.

So... keepers. Here's my conundrum, any advice from my opponents is welcome lol. Pretty sure I'm gonna keep that McDavid fella as one keeper. Likely keep Carlson on D as second keeper, though he may be slowing down a bit, he still holds plenty fantasy value. Now my third keeper is my question mark. If it were up to you would you A) keep Smith as a goalie B) keep Grubauer (now a Kraken) C) ditch both tenders? Now if Phillip was still an AV this would be an easy decision for me however he in no longer in Colorado and even scarier he's gone to an expansion team (sidenote- kinda funny Seattle's top D pairing is gonna turn out to be Giordano and Larsson). As for Smith, do I believe he can repeat last season... man I really want to think so, am I willing to bet on it, hmmm. What say you fellas? What would you do? Also, as your competition (and defending champion here ), I don't expect any replies haha. Welcome aboard MBM and Admin if you two are joining, and anyone else, great to have ya! GO HOOTERS GO!!

My Personal opinion, Grubauer over Smith, but his health is a concern. If I had the choice though I'd likely keep Point, he had a disappointing season last year, I'd anticipate a rebound from him. Of course the trade market is always a viable option as well *cough* Stamkos *cough* *cough* Puljujarvi, Pettersson *cough cough* I swear the coughing isn't COVID, promise.

You raise a good POINT here Rek. Plus he's listed as C/RW this year and I think last year he was listed as C only. Plus Plus, he should be playing with Kuch this season and they have great chemistry together. Kuch out all of last season likely affected Point's numbers to a degree as well. As for my goalies/Carlson conundrum problem I'm still undecided. As is my keepers are: McDavid, Point, Grubauer.

I think everyone knows where I'm at with goalies. Smith/Grubauer is as interchangeable a duo as any. As far as I'm concerned there's 5 or 6 keeper goalies in the league, and you don't have one of them. I'd keep a top player C-W-D and figure out the goaltending later. And I'd keep McAvoy or Martinez ahead of Carlson. Not as many points, but rack up stats in all the categories. McD Point McAvoy

McD Point McAvoy I fully agree on the goalies Fog, however I'm a bit more of a gambler then you I reckon so we'll see haha. I'm gonna remain undecided for awhile on my 3rd keeper. I also agree on the D, tough call there if I go the D over G route. Appreciate the input. I like your keepers, Hedman is a no brainer and should Malkin and Marner stay healthy that's a solid trio. ......................... On another note and perhaps better suited for another thread is what date do we all want to do these drafts? I'm bringing this up early bc schedule-wise I have a strange Sept coming up and will likely be changing job-placement/occupations towards the end of the month (thanx Jason Kenney!). I'm assuming we'll do these drafts on a weekend which seems to be our yearly routine? Sundays work best for me, every other Saturday I work, including Sept 25th until 215pm mst. Thoughts?
