Friedman said Oilers will not call up Campbell now until the homestand is over. And Bob says Broberg will most likely be sent down tomorrow and Gleason called up. So we will see. Apparently Oilers gave their word to JC that he would be getting a recall. So team may need to keep their word, not that they want to bring him back up. Hopefully no promise was made. Skinner is 12th in the league with over 1000 minutes played, and we're only a quarter of the way through the season. He ain't "that guy", yet. Like it or not, we need Soup to play on the big club. It will be up to the rest of the team to see that we win most of his games. Doubtful this is true but you never know. Knobs did say that Picks will get some starts during this stretch. There is no inclination that JC will be recalled during this time, just by his interview yesterday. Not only based on performance and turning things around... JC has mental block issues that are compiling. As shown not only by his play but on HNIC last weekend. For now he is dead weight. Even an AHL Picks is better than JC right now. If Oilers made a promise to call him back up, we need points and a solid JC is not forseen in the cards. It is an embarrassment actually. No other team has their 5 mil goalie playing in the minors.

I don't think it's up to Knoblauch. Can't have 5mil against the cap, providing nothing, without giving it another chance. I also think that Soup will be bought out at the earliest opportunity, regardless of how he plays the rest of the year. The downside risk is way too much.

With JC down, we have a 22 man roster. We can run 4 lines and 3 D pairings. Steady, think this is the biggest bright side to our success. Consistent lines and pairings. Our bottom 6 having a role. Why bring in a mind cramp into the mix. If everything else fails, then sure, but this would be out of utter desperation.

Demko/Schmemko, if Silovs or DeCasey get the nucks to a game 6-7 with the oilers, they'd be absolutely nuts to throw Demko in 6 games into a series? Demko only makes sense if they lose their first 2 home games and they can throw him in as a life raft to save a sinking season, but everyone says there is no way he'll be ready for game 3?

Reported on Sportsnet Demko will miss the first 4 games, Petterson may be out tonight due to an illness.

I think they're riding with Silovs. DeSmith has played us well in, was it all 4 regular season games? If Demko goes in what's the thinking he re-aggravates the knee?
