Our B-Team hangs in there and beats the flames A-Team in O.T. Love it! Campbell was sensational all game! Calm, composed, confident. Holloway was the best skater on the ice for Both teams afaic, awesome goal to tie it up late. He's looking real good! Woody with the play of the game though with the late challenge resulting in a flamers failed challenge and PP for us leading to the tying goal. Mwahaha! I fell asleep halfway through and watched the highlights this morn, if you haven't seen them or missed the game check em out: www.nhl.com/oilers/video/highlights-edm-2-cgy-1-ot-6338119524112 GOG!

Thanks Happy. I watched the highlights and there were a few good things I saw that fit right in with what we need going further. Now to get the whole team on the same page with a common goal and get ready for the season to begin.

Funny thing is watching the Flames broadcast you'd swear it was an inferno engulfing the little oil drops.. but it was an even game right through to the end. They outshot us, but it appeared to me that we were even in good chances. and we kept their offense to looking discombobulated at best. They played very well against what was close to an opening night Flames roster. The second flames called back goal was obvious as time had run out. But the first one was hilarious.. the announcers falling all over themselves how it was an obvious goal and shouldn't even be reviewed... then congratulating the brilliant coaching staff on challenging the goal, then spending the rest of the game lamenting the fact that the coaches made a mistake by challenging a goal that was an obvious goaltender interference. Funny as hell!

Listened to the game on 630 Ched (old school style) , but jAck was in mid season form especially over last 10 mins🤣🤣 It was great to here that exciting for a game of hockey again even if it was preseason meaningless game . I can only imagine how frustrated the flames commentators were that they snatched defeat from jaws of victory. Only thing seeeter would have been if Marky was in net, then It would have gone full troll mode 🤣🤣

Lavoie with a good snipe last night. He has a great shot. That's funny. I was thinking of posting something, and didn't, but that was the one thing that struck me the most was what a good shot Lavoie had to score that goal last night. That'a boy Sharpie, keep the faith!

Lavoie with a good snipe last night. He has a great shot. Broberg with a heads up play, to create it.

Last night reminded me of SC playoff game 5. That night a phantom call to Broberg, yesterday it was Bouchard ( interference and the puck was still touching the opposition). The wheels fell off right after. A second call for highstick gave a 2 man advantage, then the penaties continued. Not sure what they can do there but gaining their composure would have been best. Hope this isn't a trend. Broberg looked ok, and Malone might be that center Oilers keep searching for. Hard on the puck, experienced, gritty. Its all there right under their nose except top end speed and not RH.

Broberg is a maybe. A mixture of good and bad. Maybe he needs Eks as his partner. Just like Bouch, but pulling Bouch from Eks and putting him with Nurse may not be optimal.
I did like Gleason's play, he's the one that stood out to me. Lavoie did look pretty good, Petterson no, Sutter needs more time but we may be running out of time. Brown needs more time as well. Last night was a good gauge on our prospects. To me, Gleason has out played both Desi and Broberg. Time will tell.
On Offense, Holloway has been pretty good and had a good game from Lavoie so NEED one of those two take make an impact this year. Just one.

On Offense, Holloway has been pretty good and had a good game from Lavoie so NEED one of those two take make an impact this year. Just one. watching the highlights of the nucks game, broberg's big rookie mistake was to Huberdeau at the ref that he was interfered with as the nuck grabbed his stick fairly obviously. unfortunately by time he'd finished whining, he took too long to get off and the puck ended up going the other way and into our net? This is something easily corrected and there's no doubt he has all the tools to be an NHLER, but confidence seems to be an issue? Ek is his obvious partner to solve this, but bouch and nurse havent looked great when paired together (mostly due to Nurse unfortunately)? I was/Am a big fan of Bro, but IDK how long you hold onto the "Potential aspect"? feels like its beoming a JP scenario already, complete with Spec already bum-rushing the kid out the door. the old adage: D usually take longer to develop is true in this case but time is not the oilers friend in this case and he needs to figure it out pretty quick or he'll be trade bait very soon.

We have 3 preseason games left and I hope that we play as close to the full team as possible. It is important to see how the players looking to fill the last spots are doing and fitting in, but I think it's more important to get our team chemistry set for the top 6 forwards and the top 4 defenders. Having the right people filling the holes in our lineup is important, but the main core of the team is what drives the majority of our success. Since this is set to be a very big year for the team, I'd like to see our core players sharpened up and used to each other and solidifying chemistry before we play the season opener. When the season opens I want our top 6 or even top 9 and our top 4 defenders looking as sharp as possible. Filling our few holes might be a drawn out process that evolves and changes as the season progresses and our younger players continue to learn, mature and climatize to their environment.

I am looking at the lineup vs Seattle tonight and hopefully we see things trimmed down after this game. I understand getting a closer look at some of these guys, like Gleason maybe, but realistically, Gleason, Dineen and Kemp will be sent down. Up front, maybe hang onto Lavoie a little longer because of waivers, Bourgault is inevitably going down, Hamblin and Malone are serviceable call ups and likely career AHL'ers. Erne seems pretty vanilla and I think there are a few guys ahead of Griffith. Time to widdle things down and let the big boys have a few games for some fine tuning.

Looks like tonight's line up has the top 2 lines more or less as we'll see them in season. Some fans are arguing that hollywood and Lavoie should get time with McD or Drai to see what they can do but I'm not sure i agree? They will inevitably be in the bottom 6 this year so we have to see if they can hold their own in that position and play smart hockey, not give up chances and maybe generate a bit of their own as that's what they'll be asked to do this year? One concern is; In the very limited play Brown has had, he hasn't shown he can do much on his own, so i'm really hoping he finds chemistry quickly in the top 6, otherwise he will quickly become another yammo, albeit with enough size to not be too much of liability and I hear he's a good PKer so that helps with the cap cost he brings. If his hands go stone cold though, I'd be quick to switch him with hollywood or lavoie and see what happens? I'm a bit uneasy with this idea he's been gifted top 6 based purely on being a jr team mate of McD. I Hope his spot is not carved in stone and at same time, hope he finds instant chemistry and pots 30+ goals and shows he's worth every penny and more!

I'm fine with Brown on the first line as long as he lives up to his billing as a digger and puck retreaver. I noticed a lot of the guys seemed to have an amount of rust to deal with and I would think Brown has as much as anyone on the team when you consider how long he was off for. I think if we give him a little extra time there to regain and develop chemistry that we'll be rewarded for our patience. The fact that he has been a good NHL player on his own and that he has former NHL teammates saying he's a hyman clone are all I need to hear to give him a chance. Mind you if after a long stretch we're not seeing any results then that's a different story.

Was able to watch the Kraken feed for the 2nd/3rd. It was ROOT sports and Friday's game (if not on Sportsnet) will be on KONG sports in the US. ESPN + as well or an NHL center ice sub.
Gleason continues to impress. Broberg improving. McD played with Lavoie and Holloway and were all over the place (not in a good way).
Campbell played well. Don't let the score fool you, Kraken outshot us 34-12. Was funny seeing Yammo and Shore.

At least I hope we got Yammos goal out of the way in the pre season. HOPEFULLY
