My first one to see if we can change our fortune against the lucky bounce Leafs. Call me superstitious (I am). Not pretty, if it doesn't work it will be my last GDT. Once lineups are out will try to update OP with lineups.

Well I'm getting my wish as things would have it. Turris playing a top 6 offensive role instead of a defensive bottom 9 role. He should be good but that depends on Nuge upping his game as well and giving this new line a few games.
Mcd Drai Pulj Turris Nuge Yammo
Let's see how we do.

That second line is going to get eaten alive in their own end which is probably where they will spend most of the night.

That second line is going to get eaten alive in their own end which is probably where they will spend most of the night. Possibly, but as Tipp said in earlier interview, "it isn't written in stone".......he didn't actually say that but that is more or less his intent. . Depending upon how the game is going, Nuge and Drai could intermittently change places, or even Kass could be pushed into one of the top two lines if a more "rough and tumble" game is required, maybe even Turris could be thrown in with Connor and Jesse, lots of options to consider. Turris has not provided a third or fourth line defensive performance that he was brought in for, so maybe we need to take off the shackles so to speak and see if he can help offensively in the top six, which really has been his game historically. The main thought for this game should be to get bodies in front of the net, so that is Jesse, Kass & JJ. Maybe we can get a lucky break or two, instead of us complaining about ones against us.

I'd like to see Archie get a shot next to McD and JP... and reunite the DRY line. Anywho, I'm calling a blowout screw it. 6-2 road warriors. JP pots two. GOG!!

In view of my last sentence in that earlier post, can someone please let me know how one applies for the coaching job at the Oilers? . OK, I did not nominate the right guy, but the idea was there. Seriously though, I think we are onto something playing Turris as second line centre with RNH and Yammo. For the first time maybe all season, Turris looked to be a bona fide NHL player. At least I thought so.

At least I thought so. There's a chance. First day he got here he talked about the 3c position role but the words that got me is that he likes to "create". He's an offensive minded player first not defensive so we'll see what happens. Makes sense to play him at C, since our wannabee 7 million dollar NugeMeister can't win a draw.

Bob Stauffer @bob_Stauffer · 2h Oilers fought all night after Leafs landed some early bombs. Mike Smith (12-3-1 on the season) exceptional...gave his team a punchers chance...29 saves. Nurse NHL leading...12th goal by a defenceman...GWG in OT. McDavid 11 game point streak (7-16-23). EDM 19-7-1 last 27GP. Great win, even though we played our C game. 19-7-1 is some good coaching.
