EDMONTON, AB - Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG) announced today enhanced COVID-19 health and safety requirements at Rogers Place. Starting with the first Oilers pre-season game on September 28, 2021, and for the foreseeable future, fans aged 12 and older must present proof of one of the following for entry into Rogers Place:
Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination received at least 14 days before the day of the game (the full series of a Government of Canada accepted COVID-19 vaccine or combination of accepted vaccines). Either electronic or paper records will be accepted. Albertans' immunization records are easily viewed online and available on cell phones through MyHealthRecords or by downloading the MyHealthRecords app.
A negative COVID-19 test result from an approved testing provider taken within 48 hours of the game's scheduled start time (for example: if a game is on Thursday at 7:00 PM, the COVID-19 test must be taken any time beginning 7:00 PM on Tuesday)
OEG also requires all employees, volunteers and contractors be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus with a Health Canada approved vaccine or combination of vaccines at least 14 days prior to September 28, 2021.
OEG is committed to providing a safe working environment for our employees, as well as a safe environment for our customers and members of the public with whom we interact regularly.
After careful deliberation with stakeholders including the NHL, WHL, live entertainment promoters, our fans and Alberta Health, we believe these changes are not only vital to the safety of our fans and staff, but also critical in the fight against COVID-19 as we welcome fans back to our venue and do our part for the safe reopening of our city, province and country. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide more information on our venue COVID-19 policies in the coming weeks.
We thank our fans and our team members for their cooperation in ensuring we are able to welcome guests back to Rogers Place.

I understand the decision behind Rogers Place and the Edmonton Oilers new requirements to attend games. Businesses through mandates can now require Private Medical info on their customers.
As a long time fan/supporter of the Edmonton Oilers from the first day in the WHA 1972 to Aug 25,2021 I have seen great times and low times for this franchise. There was a period of two years where I did not support this franchise due to what I believed was inept management and the public display from Kevin Lowe where he classed fans as tier 1 and tier 2. I have since returned to support this franchise.
As a fan and as a business owner I have literally spent Tens of thousands of dollars over the years attending games, I have spent tens of thousands of dollars buying tickets for friends and family. I have also Spend thousands of dollar on Oilers merchandise and memorabilia not only for myself but for friends and family.
I have two friends who have been season ticket holders for a long period and have decided due to the recent announcements will no longer attend games. Yes, those are one of the options for the customers.
After great thought I also have decided I no longer will support The Edmonton Oilers through attendance, merchandise or memorabilia. I have also decided to cancel my sports tv package as I will not provide any revenue based on their business practices. I will walk away from the game I have loved since childhood.
I will be leaving this message board shortly and permanently as I no longer support this product.
I would like to sincerely apologize to many members here for my conduct and insults. I wish you all the best in the future.
I would also like to thank the members here for their informative sharing of info, debate and laughs over the years.
God Bless to All
