"Koski played great last night"......? Slow glove hand still appears to be there, and he almost (but didn't thanks to McDavid's clearance off the goal line) cost us the game with a slow clumsy play behind the net. Adequate would be my word of choice, "great" is debatable imo. Hope you enjoy your fishing .

Ok fair enough BH, I'll split the difference with you and say Koski was Good last night (as well as in pre-season). Coming in halfway through the game last night and stopped 20 of 21 shots and posted a .952%. I'll take that. My bigger concern is our shots against, averaging 40 shots a game, worst in the league. That needs to change.

But you are correct, 20 of 21 shots saved is good, and if he could keep up the .952 he would be my hero.......but we all know he won't......but if he can get to .900 or better for the season, as a back up, he would have done his job. And the shots being conceded are of concern, agreed. Over to the coaching staff to resolve that issue. But as Tipp mentioned only a few days ago, shots are shots, good scoring opportunities are different. I wonder where we are when it comes to conceding A grade goal scoring chances?

Last year we averaged just over 8 a game the best teams in the league were about 6.5 and the worst team was 9.8. So terrible. This team needs to clean things up a lot of things are going to go south.

However on the positive side, how many teams so far have scored 14 goals in 3 games, or have averaged almost five goals per game? Always two sides to a story, right? Is that going t be our team philosophy? Score more than the opposition regardless? Just checked, only Philly and St Louis averaging more goals per game than the Oilers, for what it is worth.

Sure as long as we want to be a first round exit in the playoff again it's a perfect strategy. Half our goals are powerplay or empty net and we are all well aware of how many powerplays we get in the playoffs.

So, how many chances are we going to give yam to claim that spot as 2nd line winger? IMO this should be his last before giving someone else a chance to see if they have chemistry with 2 legit 1st line playmakers like Drai and Nuge? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I think it’s more the fact that he’ll likely be even less effective in a bottom six role. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve been waiting to see the top two lines set up like tonight. I think they will be really good.

Wish it was Perlini on the 2nd line, Drai and Nuge both good passers, Perlini with the shot. Aw well, see how Yammo does

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk yep that is correct, he'd be useless in bottom six! but he hasnt been any better than useless in top 6 for most of last year and the small sample size this year? in fact it was only that 17 game stretch of the 2020 season where he looked like a legit top six winger and that line was on fire and then for some reason tipp broke them up and they havent been the same since? drai and nuge havent changed but yam has fallen off the proverbial cliff and he's rapidly running out of time to prove he still belongs imo (If not already out of time IMO)!

Very slow start but it was like a locomotive tonight, slowly and surely gained steam all night long. by the middle of the third they were unstoppable. Great game for their first roadie and especially for Koskinens first game

Least stressful game in quite a while!! The obvious 2RW replacement would be Kassian BUT I don't want Tippet screwing with that 3rd line chemistry. Nuge has looked good at 2C when they've played Draisaitl with Conner, therefore I would suggest looking at trying a second line of Benson/Perlini- RNH - Draisaitl Give Benson a top 6 opportunity on the left side and you can always switch Perlini up if you want to give him additional minutes. Let Draisaitl take some faceoffs as needed just as he does with Conner, but Leon is much more comfortable on the RW than RNH. Let Yamamoto sit when the lineup has Conner and Leon split, and play him on the second line as before with RNH and Hyman when you load the top line.

Either way our 4th line is not getting many minutes. Yammo is not playing like a top 6 winger for quite awhile. Not sure where the honey badger disappeared to. He use to goto the blue point when he was scoring. I sure wish Hollaway was healthy. For anyone that has not noticed, Carter Savoie is lighting it up again. He has like 13 pts in 4 games. Another exciting prospect. Lavoie? To me Mcleod and Benson have been unimpressive. Every indication so far shows that Haas and Kahun were better players. You never know of course.

I think its a stretch to say Haas and Kahun were better? maybe Haas since he did his bottom 6 role ok, but Kahun had every opp to make that spot his own and crapped the bed every bit as much as Yam is now. Mcleod and Benson have never been given a top 6 opp so why not try it? Benson is smart and can play D responsibly and has decent size, Mcleod has speed and size and maybe just needs higher quality opps to start putting points on board? my guess is holloway would be in the line up if he was healthy but now may have to wait till next year (Jan 2022)? Savoie is killing it, but i'm happy to see him over-ripen as KH says so that he comes in next year and breaks the door down! luckily, we are winning now so there doesn't appear to be much urgency but there are still cracks and when we meet better teams those cracks will likely be exposed. tonight will be a decent test I think!
