$5.5m per for Zach Hyman currently is looking really good value for money. Duncan Keith, Cody Ceci, Derek Ryan and Warren Foegele all look to have added a certain something to our team, as has Bouchard, but Hyman for me has transformed the Oilers from a more or less one line team to suddenly having two seriously threatening top forward lines. It is not only the goals he has scored, not only the work rate and effort he shows, but it gives Tipp so much more of a variety of attacking options and combinations to work with. I knew Hyman was a good player when we signed him, but like others on here perhaps thought we had tied up too much cap space so to do, for a player that may or may not enhance us going forwards. I don't think that now, he currently us proving to be just what we needed. Who cares at the moment about the 5th 6th and 7th years of his contract. It is the here and now that matters, at least I think so. He scored 15 goals last season, already he has 5 in 5 games . After one or two spluttering signings, I think KH may have hit it out of the ballpark with this one.

Watching the Leafs getting blown out by the Pens right now. You really have to wonder just how much the Leafs and their fans miss having Hyman be the straw that truly stirred the drink for them.

I'm sure the Laffs knew Hyman's value to their roster, they just couldn't afford him. He won't easily be replaced in TO either. Adding Foegle and Ryan as well, has made it very easy for Oilers fans to forget about Chaisson,JJ and even Archibald.

I figured hyman was too much for too long and Keith I just didnt understand paying full price and a pick. foegele and Ryan I've seen more of and figured they would be good but they're even better than advertised and have found quick chemistry with Kass and even he's jumping again (bonus). I'm not quite ready to eat crow just yet as to me, this year has always been about making noise in the playoffs, but if we get to the 2nd round and hopefully beyond, then I'll definitely give KH is due. I wil admit, the early returns have been great, not just 5-0, but the fact Hyman has been great with and without McDrai and Keith definitely doesn't look 38 or out of place in top 4. The chances of me eating crow at the end of the year are looking v.Good atm!

Hyman has been awesome, Foegele, Ryan, Perlini and Keith have been excellent and will get even better down the line. Watching Keith and his experience with the little things he does while checking in our zone and not taking penalties is awesome and being smart with the puck. So far so good, but now we get into a little heavier schedule so we'll see. By the way do you need any salt and pepper? lol.

Good indicators are at the 20, 50 and 82 game mark. Then it’s all flushed and the playoffs start a whole new season, but I’m more optimistic now than I was 1 month ago

We needed to make 2 lines. $5.5m for a 2nd line is basically free.

Living here in Vancouver I thought I'd go down to see the Oil when they play Seattle in early Dec. Checked on line as far as tickets go. Holy C--p! The McDavid effect -- prime seat tickets when I checked are over $700 / seat. Nose bleeds are just under $200. Beer $16.50 Water $8.00 / Beef Dip $34.00. So not goin' .

You could probably do all the Cali teams for that price!!

Yesterday the same tickets or tonites game vs Montreal ranged from $435 to $175 for the Montreal game. The more sold it's CHA CHING up go the prices. I guess they want to pay the $1.3 billion back in 1 year. YIKES!!!!!!! I can't imagine as we get closer to the Oil visit how much tickets will be!

OK Their tickets must be priced on a demand basis depending on what team is coming. If you want to go and watch the Wild (boring hockey team) tomorrow, the prices range from $515 down to $75. Unfortunately no breaks on beer, water or food.
