Campbell was 22-23 in saves vs the Golden Knights.

I have never said goaltending is the only reason the Oilers lost to Vegas, so please Yuke, don't put words in my mouth. I do believe goaltending was the most critical factor, but not the only one. Unlike you, I feel our goaltenders need to be better. Also like I have stated previously, I believe the whole team should be striving to be better. So Yuke, I'm fine with us not agreeing, but I'm not fine with you putting words in my mouth. Mr T, you wrote - You can interpret it any way you want, but when he only mentions one position that seems pretty precise. That being said, if he (Leon) only said it once you might say that it was just a passing comment, but he has made that specific comment twice now so obviously it's a little more than a passing comment. When you say the biggest difference in the series was their goalie making the saves, how else can you interpret it other than ours did not? Hey T, this is where I got that from, I didn't write it, you did. And Leon didn't say it either Yuke, it pays when having a debate with another person to actually read or listen to what the other person is saying so you don't get it wrong. The part above that you bolded is not what I was talking about when I said "putting words in my mouth". I guess the difference between you and I is I don't blame our goaltending alone for the loss where you and others do. The quote I just pasted was what I was talking about because I have not put all the blame on just goaltending alone yet you are accusing me of it.

"They are a good team, they are deep, their goalie played extremely well in the playoffs which is big". Then he goes on and says something to the effect it is nothing this team cannot handle. Zero mention that biggest difference was their goalie. I guess the difference between you and I is I don't blame our goaltending alone for the loss where you and others do. You lean one way and I lean the other. If I could pick 1 main turning point it would be Nurse getting a game misconduct and taking our advantage away. I have never said goaltending is the only reason the Oilers lost to Vegas, so please Yuke, don't put words in my mouth. I do believe goaltending was the most critical factor, but not the only one. If you look on page 1 of this thread I state the goaltending could be better, you have "put words in my mouth" above by saying "Unlike you, I feel our goaltenders need to be better". Enough now T. Not sure why you are so pissy (I say jokingly).

If you had done that at first there would have been no debate. Don't say you were including goaltending because the rest of your post was about defensive lapses.

Wtf you talking about. I use a phone and don't have all the typing luxuries of a computer nor the time. I've now added the post that uses the alone reference, kind of figure you been able to figure out what I was referencing.ps. Defenseis not the same as defensmen. Defense is a team position. I see the nap didn't help. If you get this worked up over something minor, I'd hate to see your reaction to something that actually mattered.

Yuke I'm honestly not trying to be a bronco73, I really don't recall anybody saying that? I know there have been LOTS of discussions about putting Campbell in and sitting Skinner... but I really don't recall anybody saying that was the sole reason we lost... Of course admittedly I haven't read every post.

I know I'm early with this, but I'm looking forward to a good camp. I'm really hoping that the rookies and all Oilers for that matter, come into camp loaded for bear. In other words, big game hunting, looking for bigger and better things and hungry for it. These are the years that matter, we're in McDrai's prime and we need to reach the next level and that's cup hunting. Every Oiler should be gearing for this and for good reason, they need to be in a team state of mind. Winning takes everyone, the whole team, rookies to vets all on the same page. OK, now that I vented I feel a little better. Bring on the camp!. That's not venting, that's just telling it like it is Tea! And I concur sir! Hi fellas, hope everyone is having a great summer and finding time to get out and enjoy whatever it is that you enjoy doing! As eager as I am for hockey to fire up I'm not quite done with summer by any means haha. I had to take a step back from hockey after our loss to the Knights this last season. I had really high hopes, much like this year, and I'm at a point where nothing short of the Stanley Cup is good enough for this fan. Let this year be the year we bring Lord Stanley's Cup back to Canada where it belongs and let this season be the dawn of another Oiler Dynasty. I'm excited about bringing Brown aboard, hopefully he's the last piece of the top 6 we've been looking for, stay healthy sir. Pederson was a decent cheap signing as well. I think we may see one more min cost bottom 6 signing should Kenny have any $ left after signing Bouchard. That player could come from a PTO we'll see. Nevertheless the team is pretty much complete. Bringing in Jeff Jackson as CEO can only be seen as a good thing, if Connor approves, I approve! Stoked for 23/24! GOG!!

Haven’t seen you on here in a while. You must be doing lots of fishing etc. I have went out a few times but not near as many as I had planned. Life gets in the way. I’m excited for the season as well!! Lord Stanley is on his way.

In retrospect I probably shoulda said I was taking break rather then just disappear halfway through our final round. I was just pissed off. But I'm back now!! All is well here, hope life finds you well too. Fishing yes, I actually just posted in the fishing thread about my latest trip, good times. Actually I'm coming your way on Monday for a couple days to pick up a friend. Staying in the westside at an Airbnb. I'm not sure what she has planned but if I can get a chance to fish I'm gonna lol. Where should I go? Henderson, NS, the Oldman? Maybe you n I n broncs can hook up, though guessing you guys working? I've never fished in Lethbridge? Send me a PM.

You're right, as much as I'm looking forward to camp, I'm also enjoying the summer. Built a firepit that we're getting good use out of and I'm looking forward to my annual lobster feed that I buy right off the boat from a friend of mine. I hope you're enjoying yours as well. From the sounds of things you're able to pack in a good amount of enjoyment out of your activities. Looking forward to talking to you and the other guys about camp and the Oilers, but until then enjoy your summer.

Skinner's biggest problem was Campbell. Skinner never should have been in that position, especially as a rookie. Campbell being unplayable was the biggest single factor in our defeat. Campbell stunk it up quite a bit during the regular season. However, when called up to take over for Skinned, he played really well. I don’t buy the argument the Knights let up, as no team does that in the playoffs, IMO. A few years ago, the Oilers were up 3-0 with ~ 5 minutes left in the third period and lost to the Kings (I believe it was them) in OT. So, he played better against the same team Skinned got skinned by. I don't think he played well. It was a firedrill of loose pucks the whole time. If he had been solid he would have started the next game. He didn't get scored on, but he didn't play well.

Skinned was a sieve, yet kept starting. Bad coaching decision.
