Tom Wilson signs for 7 years @ 45.5 million dollars.
I know some will think it an overpay. I think that's about what he's worth. Great player I'd love to have play on my team, but keep it clean.

Looks to be a Looch2.0 contract to me so he may well end up becoming a flame 3-4 yrs from now, just dont expect the nhl to gift you a 3rd rnd pick this time, that only happens when it’s the oilers 😉

I thought he was a puss after that. He had to go. That incident just confirmed my respect for Lucic. I saw it as he still had a bond with his old teammates and wasn't going to cross certain lines. No way was he a puss, no way was he afraid of Kassian. I think he would have demolished Kass and I think they both knew it. I still have great respect for Lucic, it's unfortunate that he just didn't fit with the Oilers. These things happen, especially when your skillset places you in a certain category. He was much more productive with the Flames and that was because he was a better fit with that team chemistry. It's just the way some things pan out.

It's just the way some things pan out. I actually have a lot of time for Looch too! You cant blame him for taking the PC retirement gift, but I think he himself maybe put too much expectation on himself and that's why it never really worked out for him with oilers? Once the trade happened I think it reset the parameters and Sutter must have had a talk with him and said your job here is as a 3-4th line checker who protects the skilled guys and since your salary is written off anyway, dont worry about it? He basically found the role he was always meant to play with the flames. I kinda think a similar thing happened to Kass but on slightly smaller scale and both guys have young families too, so they are both aware that they want to be able to enjoy life after they retire and not end up with too much brain damage? I can totally respect that!
