I do not understand why every team in the NHL doesn't have a female version, the PR and branding would be a dream and generate a lot more interest and the always important goodwill. Soccer has done this and now the female players are getting some pretty hefty wages commensurate with the growing popularity (albeit still far behind the men). I've never watched women's soccer before but this recent world cup had me cheering the Canadians and Aussies and a few other teams and it was regularly drawing capacity crowds in Sydney and Melbourne. I'm not saying I'd ever become a fan of Women's hockey, but there would be more of a chance I would if the oilers had a female team to cheer on. THis current PWHL version leaves me yawning, although my understanding is that its the female leaders of the PWHL who are blocking more involvemnet from the NHL, probably around rights, marketing and money. Its plain stupid IMO. 10% of a potential billion dollar operation is a lot more than 90% of a $1M operation and I see it going knowhere unless the NHL takes over and allows team branding!

Anyone planning on watching? I watched some of the draft, does that count?! Some of them ladies were looking nice not all geared up! Depends when the games are on. I'll flip to a game if I see one on and see if it holds my interest.
