The 1st round matchups are set in the East, and tomorrow they'll be set in the West. Assuming Vegas beats Anaheim and LA beats Chicago, there will be no movement in the standings in the West, and I believe they are set as they stand today. With that, here are my first round matchup predictions (subject to change if the matchups change tomorrow ha):
EAST
NYR > Wash Flo < T-Bay Car > NYI Bos < Tor
WEST
Dal > LA Van > Nash Edm > Veg Winn > Col
Thoughts? With my predictions 4 Canadian teams advance to the 2nd round, yes even Toronto haha. Anyone else care/dare to venture their guesses?

Well Doc, things have changed after tonight. Instead of Edm vs Veg it's Edm vs LA. I will stick with Edm winning. You? And then we now have Dallas vs Vegas? I will stick with Dallas winning. You? Anybody else?

Wasnt sure if it was worth creating a new thread, but since this is just called 23-24 playoffs i thought I'd just post here about thoughts on the "other" playoff matchups so far. Home Ice definitely proving to be valuable. The only home team i saw struggle in game 1 were the nucks and they got lucky thanks mostly to their 3rd line and not the stars. Putting lindholm between Garland and Joshua has suddenly created a very dangerous combo. As much as I hate nucks, I love the Game Garland and Joshua play and we can only hope Holloway can reach this level. An oiler equivalent would be to use holloway-nuge-Mcleod/Foegele except neither Mcleod or foegele have the same "Bite" Garland or Joshua have? I've always maintained we should stick to mcD, Drai, Nuge as our 3 C's down the middle, but not one coach has tried to do this for any length of time? It's gonna be interesting to see the line-combos and whether knobby has the fortitude to stick to them, or run to the blender at first sign of trouble??

I watched game 1 of Avs/Jets, what the heck was that lol! 13 goals! Fun to watch as an opposing fan. Going to be an enjoyable series to follow, I hope it goes 7 games with them beating the crap outta each other and the Jets come out on top. Speaking of crap, Mark Stone is good to go for game 1 tonight. I hope that series also goes 7 with the Stars (spit spit) limping out victorious in the end.

In a stroke of pure luck that can almost be viewed as devine intervention, Mark Stone has some how miraculously become healthy enough to start for the Vegas Golden Knights today. If only the Knights had known this at the trade deadline they wouldn't have had to trade to acquire expensive replacements for him
