Sad news indeed, Always enjoyed watching him play
Winger Rusty Patenaude, 71, one of the first signings with Bill Hunter’s World Hockey Association Oilers, died recently up at his ranch up at Williams Lake, B.C. He died of complications from Guillain Barre Syndrome, the disease where the body’s immune system attacks the nerves. Patenaude, who played six years with Oilers, was tough as a piece of rawhide and had 72 points in 75-76.Courtesy of the Edm Sun.
