Jack gets yanked again after letting in 4 on 21 shots early the other night. Rodrigue steps in to stop 15/16 in a 5-2 loss.
Pickard 4gp - 2.03GAA, 93.9SV%
Rodrigue 6gp - 2.17GAA, 93.5SV%
Campbell 10gp - 3.46GAA, 88.8SV%
At this point JC is just taking valuable playing time from Rodrigue who deserves the net. Can't wait to cut this loss. Wish him the best.

Agree 100% HH, yet I keep hearing that the oiler "Brain Trust" (I use that term extremely loosely), keep insisting that they are trying to get JC as many reps as possible, so he's ready to come back up! I know the cap situation is awkward and soup's play has put this org in a bind, but if they do bring him back up because they feel that is the only option, then I will lose all faith that JJ and the rest know anything about how to build a winning team here! IMO, only way forward is to use him as an AHL back up till end of season, then buy him out, unless of course they find a team dumb enough to take him in a trade and who knows? A change might reset his mental fortitude? I'd rather they use skinner pickard and/or rodrigue till end of season and hope for the best? Other teams have thrown "Their Rodrigue" into this situation and its worked out really well! Think Hill-Vegas etc! so why not? It's a better option than soup IMO!

It wouldn't be a terrible decision to bring him up after xmas for a cup of coffee or 2 and see if he can play in the bigs? Apparently he's waiver eligible next year so if we wait till next year, we'd have to risk losing him, whereas now its risk-free?

Good things been happening on the farm. Condors are on a 7-0-2 run and are hot right now, much like our big club. Even Campbell stopped 34 of 36 last night!  The AHL is silly, while the Condors have only played 28 games, every other team has played between 32-37 games, granted we had 2 games postponed but still?! Anywho I'm hearing Lavoie, Holloway, Broberg, and Rodrigue have all been playing well and that's great news for us. Bakersfield plays Tues and Weds and I read Stauffer suspects DH may be recalled for the weekend (Flames game?), we shall see. GCG!! |

Yep JC has been better. Watched a couple of games. Funny, Oilers have played the least amount of games in the NHL, Condors least amount in the AHL. Going to be plenty of hockey to watch the rest of the season.

Condors finished their regular season last night with a 5-3 win. Broberg had 3 assists. 15pts in his last 9 games down there to close out the season. This yr he went 49GP - 5G, 33A, 38pts. Since turning pro he is 87GP - 11G, 54A, 65pts. This kid is ready for the big show. I expect him to be a fulltime regular on the Oilers next season.
Condors playoffs start Weds vs TBD.
Brad Malone is retiring after this year.
