Mini Oilers lost a pair of games on the weekend to the Iowa Wild. Saturday night the Condors couldn't hold their 2-1 lead going into the third and the Wild came out with three unanswered goals to take the game 4-2. Marody and Currie were our scorers. Skinner stopped 33 of 37 as the Wild outshot the Condors 37-21. Special teams were good going 1/2 PP and 0/4 PK. Sunday the Condors (7-8-3) made it to the shootout before falling 3-2 to the Wild (11-4-2-2). Currie and Day were our scorers. Again the team led 2-1 headed into the third period but the Wild were able to tie the game and then take it in the SO. Dylan Wells set a new Condors record stopping 49of 51 shots, the most shots allowed ever by the Condors. Next up for Bakersfield is a home game tomorrow night (Weds 27th) vs the division leaders Tucson Roadrunners (Arizona). Good job Happy! I for one appreciate your efforts to keep us up to date, even the bad news reports.

Condors lost their 4th in a row losing 8-3 to the Roadrunners on Wednesday. Persson, Gamba, and Currie scored. Shots on goal were 39-28 Bakersfield and special teams went 0/3PP, 0/2PK. Wells got the start in net, Skinner finished the game. Looks to me like most of the injured have returned to the Condors except Yamamoto, he remains as the elf on the shelf. Kailer struggles to stay healthy, not good when he's already facing an uphill battle being on the short side in a big mans' league. Jurco is out also. Condors fell to 7-8-3 on the season in this one, they face SJ Barracuda on the road tonight then return home to take on the Ontario Reign for Teddy Bear Toss Night. Go Condors!

Condors beat the Barracuda 4-3 Friday night to improve to 8-9-3 on the season. It was a come from behind victory as the team trailed 2-0 early in the 2nd before Samorukov tallied his first of the season, followed by McLeod's 3rd at the end of the period. Again SJ took the lead in the third period but goals from Lagesson and Marody sealed the deal for the win. Willy also had two assists in the game to go with his game tying goal in the third. PP was 0/3, PK 1/4, outshot 37-31. Skinner got the win. Starrett who was a big part of last year's team success (along with Bear and Jones - boy do the Condors miss these two - and they ain't coming back ) finally returned to the bench (as back-up to Skinner), Starrett hasn't played since Oct 13th. It will be good to have him back if he can return to last season's performance level. Big night tonight as it is annual Teddy Bear Toss Night in the Bake, should be a great crowd turnout as per usual and I hope the boys kick the Reign's arses in the process haha.

Condors picked up their 2nd win in a row as they defeated the Reign 3-1 on Teddy Bear Toss Night in front of their 4th largest crowd in team history of 8981, Currie scored the Teddy Toss goal this year. Also scoring was Jurco and Yamamoto in his return to the lineup. Yam also picked up an assist and the game's 1st star selection. Bouchard and Marody each had two assists. Special teams were busy going 1/7 PP and 0/9 PK. Shots were 36-30 Condors and Starrett was back between the pipes stopping 29/30. Great to see Yam and Starrett back and the team looks to be pretty much fully healthy now. Bakersfield is now 9-9-3 and won't play until Sat, Dec 7th for a road game vs the Heat.
Go Condors!

Jones and Lagesson also scored. Shots were 39-34 Bakersfield, Skinner was in net. Special teams - PP 1/5, PK allowed 2 against in 3 attempts. Bakersfield now 9-10-3 play San Jose on Wednesday next.

Condors lost their last two games before the xmas break on the weekend. Both losses to the Colorado Eagles by 4-1 and 7-5 scores. Bakersfield is now 10-13-4 on the season. The team returns to action Saturday the 28th to host the Stockton Heat for the first of 5 games in 8 nights. Hopefully less rest is what this team needs to spark some fire in their bellies as their hasn't been any overly exciting news to report from the farm all season. Was last year's success primarily due to Jones and Bear? I'm thinking so. Well that, and better goaltending which also seems to be missing this season. 2019/2020: Starrett .893, Skinner .879, Wells .878. 2018/2019: Starrett .918, Wells .909, Skinner .879 Montoya .879.

Condors ended the Heat's 7 game undefeated streak with a 4-3 home-ice win on Sat. Yams had 1g, 1a and Benson had 2 assists in the victory. Currie, Esposito, and Malone also scored. Penalty box doors were busy, 2/5 on the PP, 1/7 PK. Shots were 37-31 Stockton, Skinner was in net.
Manning and Granlund should be joining the team after being placed on waivers. Jurco was a scratch in this one? Hebig has been called up from the Thunder to join the team also.
Next up, on the road vs SJ Barracuda today at 5.

I've missed a couple games on here recently, a 7-5 Condor win over SJ on the 29th and a 4-3 OT loss to LA on New Years. Playing catch up...
Last night the Condors edged the Gulls (Anaheim) by a score of 3-2 as they moved to 13-13-5 on the season. Benson had a goal and helper and Currie picked up 2 assists. Bouchard got his 5th while Kulevich scored his first of the season (and game-winner) to cap off the scoring. Skinner got the win stopping 29 of 31 San Diego shots. PP 0/6 PK 0/2. Benson has been hot lately with 3g 7a in his last 10gp.
Condors face the Gulls again today, again in San Diego, as they play their 2nd of a 4 game road trip.

Condors led 2-0 early in the second but seen their lead vanish in the final period with the Heat replying with 4 unanswered goals, 3 of them coming in the 3rd (one empty netter). Both Condors goals were scored on the PP by Malone. Benson picked up 2 assists. Stockton's PP was also effective going 2/3 while we were 2/4. Shots were ugly at 40-21 in favor of the Heat. Skinner stopped 36 of 39. The loss was the first regulation loss in 2020 (3-1-1).
Condors are now 14-14-5 on the season and finish up their four game road trip vs the Ontario Reign(LA) on Friday.

Bakersfield had a good weekend with a pair of wins over Ontario and Iowa to improve their record to 16-14-5 on the season and 5-1-1 in the new year.
Friday it was Condors 5, Reign 3. Five different scorers in Bouchard, Cave, Persson, Currie(1g1a), and Granlund(1g1a) with the EN. Benson had 2 assists. Special teams PP was deadly going 3/3 while the PK was also perfect going 0/4. Busy night for the tenders with shots 43-36 for Ontario, Skinner stopped 40. Like the big club, the Condors had a solid road trip ending it 4-1-0 with the win.
Condors returned home to defeat the Iowa Wild 5-2 on Saturday. Down 2-1 going into the 3rd period the team responded with four unanswered goals to get the win. Currie(1g1a), Granlund, Kulevich(1g1a), Day, and Cave(EN) were our scorers. Bouchard had a pair of assists. PP 1/4, PK 0/5. Starrett was in net only having to stop 16 shots for the win while the Condors had 27 shots on net. Condors are now 6-1-1 in their last 8 games.
Next up is a rematch tomorrow night(14th) at home vs the Wild again as the team continues their busy January schedule.
