Watch out for them zebras. We may have the fastest animal but they call (or don't) the show! Great come-back win in Beantown last night now let's close out this back-to-back with another victory vs the sinking Sabres. Show up for 60, full effort for Skinner! 4-1 road crew! GO OILERS GO!!

Wow, that was terrible! Loses like this make me very concerned about the playoffs. I think we could still contend for the cup this year but we badly need a goalie and a 4th line! Hopefully Holland is willing to make some moves at the deadline.

This is not an excuse the Oilers now have to expect teams like Buffalo to be prepared not to get embarrassed and to beat a team like the Oilers is a feather in their cap. I was hoping for a win but the loss wasn't really that surprising. 3 games in 4 days, travel. They played a hard game the night before against Boston and relaxed. The Oil are now an "elite" team and teams like Buffalo really "get up" to play the elite teams. Once again not an excuse they have to be ready to play all teams what ever place in the standings they may be. We're 10 & 3 so now let's make it 11 & 3 boys.

We are not scoring enough 5 on 5 and our bottom 6 is not playing well enough so I disagree we are an elite team. Not yet anyways.
Skinner has been ok but what happens if Koss gets injured for instance. God forbid. We are a good team with a high end top 6 that makes up for the bottom 6.

I have barely watched a minute of Oilers this year until this week and now they start losing. It's not Skinner's fault per se, but I don't understand why he played twice. Koskinen will go back to being the back up when Smith returns so it's not like they are going to overtax him. I can see why Skinner started this game on the back to back, but they should have started Koskinen against the Wings, the Oilers hadn't played the previous 3 days.

wow we were outplayed but found a way to win. Great for McLeod to get his first! Drai with 3 points, Connor with 2, and Koskinen was unreal. A game we shouldn't have skated away with, but I'm sure glad we did.

We're 3rd best in the league 5 on 5 according to Tipp. McLeod played a good game and it's nice we're getting scoring from our bottom 6. Koskinen was outstanding his goals against average is 2.97 save % 91.2%. The refs still missed a number of calls against McDavid. I'm starting to believe that due to our PP they don't call penalties in situations that are maybe "meaning less" in the game to keep it close otherwise it could be a runaway. A penalty is a penalty but these knobs ....

We are near 3rd in the league 5 on 5 but we have to be near the bottom of the league in 5-5 goals against.

We probably should have gotten 2pts against buffalo and instead got nada and last night we probably shoulda got nada and got 2? I know we were both praying in the last 5 mins to try and steal a loser point LOL! And then xmas miracle happened, Yam scored! (Albeit, Drai was handing out prezzies all night long like the big red guy himself, but most of the time they turned to coal)!

Was surprised by the stats as we seem to scored as many PP as we do even strength goals.

Was surprised by the stats as we seem to scored as many PP as we do even strength goals. It's hard to be both an Offensive team as well as a Defensive. The Oilers obviously fall into a highly offensive team. With the offense leading the defensive side of the ledger suffers. It usually ends up with more odd man rushes against. They can surely be a bit more defensive, however I'd much rather watch them then say a Minnesota. With the PP leading and being 3rd in the NHL 5 on 5 our goals against is higher. Most important stat is wins vs losses.

Our 4th line plays very little. Our bottom 6 has been leaky. If McLeod can do his thing that should improve things. Offensively and defensively Edit we are 17th in the league in goals against. Not sure when it comes to 5 on 5 specifically

Not sure when it comes to 5 on 5 specifically I think once we get Kassian back and get that 3rd line together again it will be improved greatly. For now things are going pretty well, but there will be some bumps in the road. Also Devin Shore when he returns will have a positive impact on that bottom 6.
