Thanks for the GDT, Happ.
Skinner deserves another start, he's been excellent. Stopped 75 of the last 78. Oettinger for the Stars is playing well, also. 63 of his last 66.
Dallas has turned the corner. Winning 3 of their last 4, all at home, after a slow start. 3 of our last 5 games against Dallas have gone past regulation time. Both teams should be rested. Neither has played since Saturday.
Should be a gooder!! lets go boys!!!

Thanks Happy. Know Tip wants to include everyone but would rather have Sceviour and Benson in, then the weaker players for AZ tomorrow night. Who knows, maybe after sitting out they will come to play.

I thought ryan was out for a while with concussion-like symptoms? FWIW, I dont think Perlini has done enough when he's in, he seems to think he's in to be a goal scorer not a grinder, where as Benson seems to have finally grasped this concept. Sceviour i thought has played pretty good with limited ice time so surprised he's not in either

I'd have to agree I would prefer Scev and Benny over Turris and Perlini too but as mentioned coach is trying to keep everybody fresh I guess. We are starting to improve 5x5, I read since Nov 1 (5x5) we are 40GF 42GA (49% - an improvement since our Oct start), and are 15GF-10GA when either McD, LD, and McLeod are at center. So to me that says don't mess with those 3 centering our top three lines if this positive 5x5 upward trend continues. Just need that 4th line (whatever combination of players that may be) to break even and/or not bleed goals against and our forward lines are looking pretty good especially when we factor in our special teams. I like what Tipps has done with the D for this one. Never a good time for injuries but good timing for Nurse if he had to go out as we only play 3 games in 10 days after this back-to-back vs Stars/Yotes. He should be back in time for what looks to be a crazy December with 15 games in 31 days vs all good-great teams imo (minus Kraken twice but even both those games are in their rink so not necessarily gimmes however still our easiest games). Stoked for Skinner playing so well, guessing Tipps maybe gave him the start of the back-to-back since he's running hot and didn't want to disrupt his flow with a game off in between his next game but that's just speculation on my part. Interesting note, so far this season Skinner seems to do better the more shots he faces which is a good thing for a team like us, lol.

For the guys that for whatever reason would prefer a, b or c before Turris............correct me if I am wrong, but Scev, Benson and Perlini have zero goals between them...........Turris not a great deal better, but has two shoot out goals which earned us the extra point, and one goal in regulation also.........and for sure, historically a lot more NHL points that those three put together.
Turris 100% so far when it matters in the shoot outs.....that has got to be worth something......doesn't it?

For me I would just like a longer look at Scev but there is no disputing what you say as far as Turris's SO success so far this season but can't keep a guy in the line-up just in case we go to a shootout can we? I see what you're saying, I just want to see more from the Scev, we know what Turris brings. Both players will get their games this season I am sure, especially with injuries. I don't really have anything against Turris though he seems kinda meh to me aside from his magical SO touch thus far. Scev may be the same or more, or less, need to see him play more.

Turris not sure of his defensive stats but he was poor poor last year and not sure as much this year. Ok it's great he gets two shootout goals but what is he costing us on the defensive side of things. -6 is not that good so early on in the season, especially with his little ice time.
I'm going to pick on our bottom 6 until we come closer to even.

I dont necessarily have a problem with turris in, I just dont think Perlini has done anything to warrant another look rn, maybe send him down to A to get confidence and if he has to pass waivers so be it. Saying all that, the most important skills our 4th line need are D awareness and to bring a bit of physical play and Turris doesn't seem to bring either of those? So if all he brings is a very rare goal and the odd SO goal, I do think i'd prefer Scev or benson as both have looked quite responsible defensively and have added a bit of grit as well (benson's dumb penalty notwithstanding). I hope Perlini shows up tonight and Turris pots another, because healthy competition on 4th line can only be good for our team

Tippet seems to have a hard on for Turris. Wasn't he the one who pushed for signing him? Sometimes I think he is more interested in proving he is right than what is best for the team. Not sure how you change the lineup after the last game where the bottom 6 probably had their best game of the season. There seems to be no reward for playing well for some players and no punishment for playing poorly for others.

Thanks for the GDT Happy. This should be a good game. Dallas is one of the teams that I would love to see the Oilers beat badly. Go Oilers Go!!

I think he goes with a more experienced line up vs teams like Dallas who are a very experienced team. Tomorrow vs Arizona I think you'll see the ones that didn't dress for this game. He's just managing his line up. I'm happy he's putting Skinner in again, he's been playing exceptionally well.

We definitely came up a little flat. I still don't think on this night the way we played we would have beaten Dallas. However Dallas gets 8 PP to our 1 which was only 32 seconds - come on!!!!!!! The so called referees missed a number of calls. However game over move on to Arizona and let's get another streak goin'.

It must very demoralizing and almost impossible to stay motivated when you see the double standards of officiating. I swear they were actually taking the piss tonight with that @interference call on McD with 19secs to go and Drai gets mugged over and over again and the sec he shoves a guy in the back for abusing him, the ref practically creams himself and get get his hand out his pants quick enough to put it in the air to call a penalty! I don’t know if anyone watches F1 here, but imagine if Red Bull and Mercedes were continually penalized until Hass wins a race or Mazeping gets pole? Do you think fans would still watch??? Well the NHL is going to lose fans in Canada in droves and maybe already are with this bs game management. Canadians know BS when they see it even if the Americans love it since their teams primarily benefit

We have alot of injuries now. It's alot to overcome for sure. Klef, Nurse, koekk, Keith. Russell is probably not 100 per cent.
Two rookie D in the lineup. Think they are doing fine but it hurts

Hey all, things at the hospital finally slowing down a bit where I can do something else. Went to the game tonight. The officiating was abysmal. Our getting mugged and nothing. We nudge someone and the arm goes up like it on viagra! I will say, the Stars fans are pretty decent. They weren't talking smack and even said the Oil was having an off night. I'll give them credit for that. Hope to be around a little more often now. I've missed you guys.

Last night after rewatching the game specifically looking for missed calls I counted at least 5 and there were some marginal that we got called on and Dallas didn't (ie Drai cross checking when the Dallas player cross checked him in the back or McLeod gets high sticked just missing his eye right in front of one of these bean bags). It's really frustrating but I can't imagine what it's like for the players and the coaches!
