Oh man, Sportsnet and TSN are trashing the Leafs in article after article. The Oilers are mentioned a lot in some of the same articles, but are being praised instead. It seems like losing to the Oilers was the straw that broke Toronto's back. The media is all over the Leafs so bad that I almost feel sorry for them.... almost. I don't... none of them felt sorry for us when we went through that crap. in fact, they usually made jokes and laughed. I don't either. I thought my sarcastic almost was a giveaway. After the ridiculing the Oilers received it looks good on them. Now back to climbing the standings.

After a good long hard cry, I replied to you with my feelings.

I actually have nothing against the players per se, but the TO media and fans are mostly pond scum, with objectivity and civility being in very short supply. Let the misery Reign and rain down on the lot of them!!

Go Oilers for tonight which is most important. Not sure where Moonknight is, some say they miss him. He must have did something but in his last couple of posts at least there was some effort there. Not a fan of being abrasive with members or mods or admin. Not sure what the case is but if you can focus on Oilers or be on the edge but add, am all good with it. Just not the other stuff... Just like myself trying to stay on the edge with the milky song which bothers some a lot even though every time it seems to work. I mean it just seems to work, it can be abrasive too however.
If we win tonight his prediction would come true. 12 wins in a row. Yep that's extremely rare but give cred where it is due.

It is about time for best on best hockey. It will be more difficult for Canada than in years past with the Americans having a more skilled lineup than ever before. Still Canada has the best players in world. I am already looking forward to the winter Olympics. This way overdue!

The Americans without a doubt will be our biggest threat. Our forward lines will be incredible, McDavid, Hyman, Crosby, MacKinnon, Tavares, Marner, Bedard, Scheifele and the list goes on. Our defense should be adequate, but Canada's goalie situation could be better. Skinner with the way he's progressing could very well be on the team, that would be pretty cool. Demko and Hellebuyck are American, that could be a problem. All in all I'm just stoked that we finally see NHL players in the Olympics again!

It's interesting that hockey Canada has said all 2018 WJH are suspended indefinitely which would include Cale Makar etc and since HC would be in charge of Canada's representation, it will be interesting if they stick with this current philosophy?

These players will be exempt from the 4 team series, but come the 2026 Olympics yes indeed. Things should be resolved by then. It is criminal that most of these players were not even there but yet by association you are guilty and can't play.

I'm not sure why HC took this stance either other than it's clearly CYA in the unlikely event that another name comes out of the woodwork. Afterall, HC doesnt have anything to lose financially or reputationally by blanket banning every one of the 2018 squad, which suggests to me this is indeed CYA

I think you mean precaution, but maybe they have a good beat and percussion is appropriate.

Regarding penalties:
When I played as a youngster I had a general philosophy that I believe should be active still... If you take a penalty, make sure that you earn it! With that in mind, I was guilty of a 2 hander just above the skate tongue, a full length extension at the blue line, an elbow to the nose, an obvious clothes line to the throat, and none of my infractions were debatable. These were very obvious, undeniable penalties. I made sure that if I sat for a few minutes, so did my victim. I apologize nothing. I was mean, dirty, a rude trash talker, and very strategic in each of these guilty actions. Good passer, good snap shot. Too bad I was weak skater. Fak, I look at the Oilers and I wish they had a good skating 25 year old me to be a total bronco73.

We had a saying in the auld country: Better to be hanged as a sheep, than a lamb
