I don't like him. I wished that he would retire because the league will be better when he is sitting in a rocking chair. They won 15 in a row without him. There are very few "pretty goals" in the playoffs, Perry is a master at scoring ugly goals. You need lots of ugly goals to win playoff rounds, it's something we have desperately lacked in the past and I hope he can be a major contributor in this area. If he doesn't he's likely gone in the off-season anyway? THIS is exactly why he was signed.

I don’t know how anyone cannot like this signing. There is nothing to lose and I feel he adds an ingredient to our team that we just don’t have and haven’t had in a very long time. I love the signing tbh.

I went to the Detroit game last night.
Perry was a turtle on Leon’s line. He can’t keep up with the play.
As far as the cheap shot intimidation BS, he is up to his usual tricks !
Put him on the 4th line where he belongs.
He got on our team to try to ride the coattails of our stars to a cup victory.
Who needs him. He is POISON.

I dunno, it looked like he screened the goalie on Leon's goal, we need that. Right now, I'm fine with him on Leon's line. They can develop chemistry for when the playoffs start and you want to try different combinations depending on the situations. 2nd line, 4th line he can move around the lines and that is important to a team. A good team is made up of many types of different players and having them work together.

Since you responded to my post, I assume you read it. I did mention that Perry has the ability to move up and down the lines and that you look for chemistry from different line combinations. No where did I say anything about Perry and Draisaitl being permanent linemates. Also, I don't think speed is the biggest factor when it comes to screening the goalie.

I actually thought that line since put together has been good. Also Drai always likes to hold the puck facing the boards sticking his butt out waiting for trailers coming into the zone etc. so I don’t feel Perry being a little slower is a big deal. Also they had Kane and Perry with Mcdavid for a shift last night and it was a heck of a shift. Kane may have even scored. I also think it is good to have some flexibility when it comes to lines and agree with you on all of your post. Perry is definitely slower but the only place I worry about him is getting back to play defense. In a lot cases on offense it is good having a trailer coming in and with the way Drai likes to hold the puck it allows time for Perry to get to his office. Sorry if I’m all over the place with paragraphs and thoughts as I’m typing this while doing a few other things. I’m sure most will get my gist.

Every team needs pests and Perry is one of the best, but top line pests are basically unicorns, there's Tkachuk, Marchand off top of my head? Perry was in that group about 5+yrs ago, but not anymore. He's a top line pest with 3rd-4th line skills/speed now. however he's being paid 4th line wages so I'm happy to have him aboard and any mins he gets in top 6 can be considered a bonus for him and once in a while its good to put a guy like him on the top lines to throw other teams off or keep them in check. Although he cant keep up as well, I think the top 6 brain is still there, so he doesnt look too outta place? I'm with T on this, moving up and down the line as needed is useful, but in a perfect world, we should keep him on 3-4th line. Unfortunately, we dont have an extra top 6 kicking around yet, so we mix/match and mumble along? If KH does get a top 6 before TDL, I still see Perry as being useful in the playoffs but there's no way we or anyone else should be paying him more than $1M. TBH, I was shocked when hawks gave him that amount!

Perry was contributing quite a bit with the Hawks and had he stayed on the team and continued the entire season contributing at the rate he was it would have been a hell of a bargain for the Hawks imo.

One thing I think we can all agree on is hoping the Oilers can stitch a few wins together and start a modest streak.

PERRY The Stanley Cup Final Jinx Dallas Stars lose, Montreal lose and Tampa Bay lose. I don’t know whose idea this was. He is not needed. We need a back up goalie. I’ve been a fan since they joined the NHL This is the worst news since Gretzky got traded. Worst decision ever. PERRY IS POISON What man lord over reaction
