Teams participating in the Stanley Cup Playoffs are going to have some relaxed freedoms regarding the league’s COVID protocols provided they are fully vaccinated. The league announced on Saturday that once 85% of a team’s traveling party is fully vaccinated, the league will reduce protocols for those teams in regards to mask-wearing, team gatherings and meetings, indoor and outdoor activities, testing and travel. The league considers people to be fully vaccinated when they are two weeks removed from the second dose of an approved vaccine. TSN’s Frank Seravalli Tweeted on Saturday that it is believed five to seven of the 12 United States based playoff teams could meet that 85 percent threshold by the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and that the majority of the American teams are around the 50% mark for fully vaccinated individuals. That number is expected to increase as more players, coaches, and staff clear the two-week mark from their second vaccine dose in the coming days and weeks. The league’s seven Canadian-based teams (including the four likely playoff teams in Toronto, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Montreal) are not believed to be anywhere close to that number given the differences in vaccine eligibility between the two countries.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I read an article that said Canadian teams were roughly 25% about 3 weeks ago and cannot locate article. Based on the article above it would be close to accurate. From The Score yesterday. www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2192018/report-nhlpa-warns-unvaccinated-players-they-could-lose-pay"NHL deputy commissioner Billy Daly said that over 85% of players in the league are fully vaccinated. In comparison, 99% of WNBA players are vaccinated, while the NFL and NBA are at 90%." The only surprising thing about that report is that the NBA has a higher % than the NHL?

I just hope after the vaccines that the NHL doesn't adopt sponsorship using fridge magnets on the Players. Lighten up it is a joke!

Dr. Deena Hinshaw was appointed Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health and as per Alberta Court documents she issued mandates and protocol on zero covid evidence! All covid health violation fines will be null and void over this landmark case. I imagine this ruling will also effect businesses who try to issue mandates as it will now open them up to legal difficulties. Me thinks Rogers Place will not be following what True North has done in Winnipeg. www.redvoicemedia.com/video/2021/08/freedom-fighter-court-victory-ends-masking-shots-quarantine-in-alberta/

Wrong the Judge in the case had to advocate for him and failed to do so.

Wrong the Judge in the case had to advocate for him and failed to do so. Where have you ever heard of a judge advocating for the defendant? Lawyers do the advocating and judges decide the verdicts. The defendant here clearly did not understand the procedures involved. It looks like he decided to defend himself and failed miserably. You know what they say about about people that act as their own lawyer in a court of law? They say he had an idiot for a client. Time and again you are showing examples that do not stand up to scrutiny, much like conspiracy theories.

Yup, this subject has "jumped the shark". I wont be posting on it anymore (after this), but hats off to all of you for providing good entertainment. I'll continue to read but its reaching the "religious" stage where someone proclaims "there's no god" and the believers say "Prove it", knowing that there is no way to either prove or disprove a "belief". Insults and wars are usually quick to follow, I hope everyone refrains from both ;-)

Ain't no Alice or wonderland down at that bottom.

Ok, let's treat that court case as off-topic now. I thought this thread made the quiet period after free agency liven up the participation of the members...Touchy subject I know and I sincerely hope everyone remains safe and Happy. My Apologies to Marshall as he thought I insulted him... The early posted meme was placed for humor and no intent to make him mad.

Ok, let's treat that court case as off-topic now. What about this one? I think she's on the red team? Michael McCann @mccannsportslaw · 13h U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett rejected a petition to challenge an Indiana University COVID vaccine mandate for students. That decision has implications for the NCAA, athletic departments and college athletes:
