The #Oilers have signed forward Matvey Petrov to a three-year, entry-level contract!
The 2021 sixth-round pick currently leads @ohlbattalion with 10 goals & 8 assists in 14 games this season.

And to think this was the pick oilers were going to give to Leafs to get hyman an extra year of contract! A long ways to go, but if he ever makes it to NHL, this would be yet another colossal blunder by Dubas!

Quick side note about Oilers prospects... that 6th round pick dubas REFUSED for Hyman... Oilers drafted MATVEI PETROV... in 19 games in the OHL he's scored 15 goals and has 27 points and +14...
He's playing so well he's already signed to an ELC... pretty hyped that Oilers kept that pick... and it just looks bad for Dubas... lol... he coulda had him too, for basically doing nothing...

Yup Dubas playing "hardball" with KH was stupid and had no logic to it, especially as both teams are in different conferences. 5th 6th rnd picks are precisely for these "roll the dice gambles". Often it comes up snake eyes, but every once in a while you get lucky #7. Petrov looking more and more like a diamond in the rough and dubas looking like a guy who's digging a deep hole to bury himself in.
