What is surprising are some of the teams at the bottom of the standings in our conference. Many have too much talent to stay there. Minnesota is crazy bad right now.

First shot Talbot strikes again. Looks good on the Flames I believe it was the 2nd shot, so he’s doing much better 🤪

Soooo... looking at it... the fLames took our 3 worst players off our hands over the summer:
-Lucic -Talbot -Reider
Brad Treliving is our best friend!

Well I didn't watch the first period, the shot count looks to be in Calgary's favor. Calgary has given up quality chances in last few games, I felt sorry for Riitch.

I guess he is doing the same 🤡 2 goals on 4 shots The last few years we would be down a few goals like that quite often and it would totally deflate the whole team. Calgary though is pushing hard and I think will come back in this one. As I was typing they scored lol.

Last year they were all about the late comebacks with fluky goals. It wasn't going to keep happening. It's not sustainable.

The Flames came in this season saying they were anxious to get started and learned a lot from last spring's early playoff exit. Seems they have not. Passion and wanting it more than the other team and taking nothing for granted is key here. There is a lot of parity in the league today and I think some of these players just thought they'd come in and put in an average effort and get to the top of the standings. This game is 90% passion when games count. I don't see Gaudreau getting as upset on losses as he was in the past, or missed opportunities. Monahan has always been this way. Something has to change here, the team can't always rely on Tkachuck and Lucic to get it going. A good look in the mirror is needed. Players need to ask themselves how can I give more. I have faith in Calgary's dressing room leadership, but they need to get this straightened out quickly.
The Oilers, on the other hand, came in highly underrated even by their own fans. The moves they made to expand their depth and leadership were key. Neal has played with 5 times more passion to start this season than at any time in Calgary. He's got no one to blame but himself. He did blame the long playoff run before joining the Flames. Perhaps that is the case. The Oilers are engaged emotionally and with talent this year. Expectations were low and that fired up the Edmonton dressing room.

Last nights game I feel was a result of the first shot first goal. Trust me it happened when Talbot was here way too often and it totally crushes a teams mojo. The expectations of the Oiler fans were low I feel for the most part. Do you blame us really? Lol. I’m still not getting my hopes too far up but am beginning to feel good about what we are starting to see.

Diet, training, sleep, the whole deal, and he rededicated himself. Risk of being repetitive but, the guys that didn't want to be Oilers aren't anymore. 3 of them are fLames and 1 is in Finland. It's a big part of what we've got going right now.

Yup and that same thing seems to be happening in Calgary. Jankowski looks like he's begging to get out of there, Bennett as well. Just zero fire in them two, especially since Mangiapane is getting all the love now and they are treated like the redheaded stepchild.

Remember when there was a serious debate on the ol' OMB about whether we should take Bennett over Drai? Not that Bennett is a bad player at all, but oh boy ...

Remember when there was a serious debate on the ol' OMB about whether we should take Bennett over Drai? Not that Bennett is a bad player at all, but oh boy ... and every flames fan on planet Earth boasted about how we pooched the bed on another pick and gifted them Bennett. Ah fun times.
