Verified. I feel like we have had the off-season!! Schedule blows No Kidding, we've started not 1, but 2 rumour threads just to try and kill the time/space between last game and tomorrow  . I will say though, as much as I hate the ASG and the AS break, some of the interviews and content pieces on our boys on twitter this past week have been solid gold. Jeff Marek and Fridge agree Drai is by far the best player to interview, which is more amazing considering English is not his 1st language. I dont have links but use google and i'm sure you'll find them (check out his "making sand castles" interview, it's brilliant). Clouder and hollywood have been posting pure gold as well. They're all becoming such a tight knit group that it actually gives me hope these guys may actually want to stick together and create something magical here. We can only hope.

I get the frustration. I just look at our team, and I don't see one "that thing". The thing that, if we had it, we'd be favored heavily to win the West and a coin toss to win the cup. The last few years it was goaltending, and we overcame that with the guys that we had. We're in a better position now with that position, so we can look at other spots. There's certainly some areas we can improve, but the prices are steep, and the results are not guaranteed. Also, I maintain that there is better play from the guys in the room. If Nurse keeps his play up, and him Drai and McD all stay healthy, we've got as good a shot as any... If one of those guys goes down, I don't think it will matter much what "that thing" we brought in. We're not going much farther. It's rare but sometimes small moves can change a team significantly, anything can happen. Oilersnation put a video on the tube going through Holland's Trade Deadline acquisitions from the start of the cap era on, and he's never gone "All In" at a deadline. Exactly. i don't think we we need to change the team significantly.

Vrana's cap is $5.25M so we'd prob have to add a pick for Det to eat 40% cap?

From what I gather he entered into the substance abuse program, got treatment and now is back but they still wont let him play?? It kinda suggests that wings think he's still not clean?  Also I heard he was way out of shape so it took him a while to get back up to NHL speed, but I also heard reports that this isnt an issue now and that his conditioning is now fine? All these rumours were from twitterazzi so I'm not reading too much into it, but if any are near-true then it should take very little to get him, but it might be a better trade for the off-season rather than the height of a playoff battle??

I heard Barbashev is available from the Blues That might be a good thing having a 1-2 week conditioning stint in Bako to get up to speed and learn our systems? it also means FLA wont expect much back? JP almost looks like the "Asset" in this scenario  As for Cap, I dont see that as a problem we can fix Fog (or is that your point)? it would have to be a straight swap of cap and theyd have to dump salary elsewhere. There arent too many teams willing to take a salary dump except the bottom feeders and they'll probably want picks to take on Duclair for nothing IMO. Also, there aren't too many good potential top 6 forwards under $3M year on open market if they're looking to upgrade? and those that are, are being shopped at a ridiculous premium atm, hence why a JP might start to look more attractive to some teams willing to take a flyer? However, it would be nice if JP ever gets back into line up before TDL, if he would pot a couple like foeg did last night and drive the interest/price up a bit? Bottom line If FLA needs/wants purely cap space to do another deal then I guess we wont be dealing with them?
