Sounds like it, much of the same attributes as Holloway. Holloway 2.3 mil (we wanted to pay him 1.3) Pod 1 mil We get a 3rd back, had to pay a 4th for Pod. No issues with this, Pod is a top 10 pick, 3 months older than Holly.That 300k now brings us cap compliant.

I'm surprised. I thought this giluy was a sure fire top 6. He was very good at the world juniors I dunno much anything about him. Looks like he had a pretty good rookie year with the Nix in 21/22 then fell off a bit from there. Perhaps, just more favourable players ahead of him. We'll see what he's got. Price is right.

To answer your Q sharps, Pod is maybe bottom 6 replacement for Holloway. We'll have enough after Kane goes on LTIR and we send a player or two on waivers/to the farm.

So much Bullshut on the internet Not sure why the Nucks would do the trade but it makes sense why the Sharks would. Mike Grier (former Oiler) did us a favor. Emberson played for Knobs in Hartford, hopefully there is something there. He is 24 but after next year he becomes not an RFA but a UFA. Will have to dig into why this is the case.

Because he will be 25 and as of now he hasn't yet played 80 NHL games. If he surpassed the 80 game mark before his contract runs out then he will still be an RFA if he doesn't then he is a group 6 UFA.

On other boards here is another scenario. Match one or both, you cannot trade them for 1 yr but you can waive them and SJ being last in the league last year would have 1st dibs to claim the player. Whether it's Holloway or Broberg. Would be a dirty piece of business, match then waive the player (say Holly), SJ claims him for free and St Louis ends up getting neither player. Would absolutely love this. You lose out on the compensation pick but we gained a young RH D. Player gets to play in SJ for signing their offer sheet. You go from winning team to losing team.
