I can't wait to see the movie that some people said would never be made. There are many fans that were disappointed by the last two, but I'm not one of them. I loved them! I recently heard that Lucas was a little disappointed that they didn't use his rough outline, but when I heard what he was going to do, I'm glad they didn't. He was going to have the mediclorians as actual characters that use beings basically as vehicles to guide around. Lucas also envisioned Princess Leia as being trained by Luke and it sounded like she was the destined one.
I think Rey is going to end up being Han and Leia's daughter that was separated at birth when she and her twin brother were born. I think someone sensed how strong she was in the force and decided she was safer growing up away from the action. Han was probably not there when the twins were born and Leia was out of it from labor complications of some sort that will be explained. I think it will end up being that female character with the weird looking glasses who liked Chewy and owned that ancient complex that was destroyed by the New Order. I hear they're bringing the Emperor back somehow.
That's my theory anyway. For all those going in Dec. may the force be with you!

It’s documented that Ben is 10 years older than Rey. What I think they should do is introduce Mara Jade, who was Luke’s wife in the expanded universe. Rey should be Luke’s kid. In Lucas’ original plans, Palpatine had a resurrection plan. So, I guess that’s the route they’re taking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I didn't see any reference in the movies, not that I'm aware of anyway. I don't recall either of their ages being mentioned at all and I got the impression they were both young adults. If you are right it blows my theory apart.

I read all the books up until that weird muti-collection of the war with the enemy that had organism based weapons and spaceships. After those books I stopped because I didn't like the direction they were going.
I liked Mara Jade in the books also, but it seems like they are not using any of those story lines except about 1 book quite similar about stealing the Death Star plans by a crack team from rogue Squadron. The movie was similar, but different than the book. Rogue Squadron, now there was a series of good books. Han Solo's origin story is another close one but definitely not the same story as in the books.
Funny coincidence is that I started reading those Star Wars books when I was off work before and after my 1st back operation in 1999.

I just think that this is the Skywalker Saga, the movie is called The Rise of Skywalker, and this is the end of the Skywalker Saga, the main character should be a Skywalker. Unless they’re gonna flip it, have Kylo Ren come back to the light side. He is technically a Skywalker and him coming back to the light and becoming a Jedi could be “The Rise of Skywalker”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk My wife and I went to see Gemini man a couple of days before my surgery and watched one of the latest trailers showing what looks like a showdown between Ben and Rey. It continues in all kinds of different locations and new characters and appears like Rey will also face the Emperor. As she approaches it looks like she opens a double edged lightsaber that is the color of Ben's lightsaber. I got the impression she took his lightsaber as spoils of war and used it to make this other one that is long, but connects to the side somehow. You can't tell if the lightsaber is fully open or not or maybe multi positional. It all looks really cool. Did you notice above the post I made about also reading the books. I posted it about the same time you posted and I wasn't sure if you saw it because it was a lone comment.

Similar to Luke on Dagobah when he sees himself under Vader’s mask while training with Yoda. It was meant to symbolize the fight between dark and light inside Luke. I suspect Rey will be going through the same thing when Palpatine inevitably tries to turn her to the dark side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah I saw that post of yours. There’s also rumours that Hayden Christensen (Anakin) is going to make an appearance. Most likely as a force ghost. I think that he’s going to get Ben to go back to the light side. Which will most likely work because Ben idolizes Vader. I’m interested in how they’re gonna explain Palpatine though. Did he get resurrected? Or did he just never actually die? We saw him get thrown down by Vader at the end of Episode 6, but they could retcon it and say he didn’t actually die. They’ll probably say that Snoke answered to Palpatine and that Palpatine was the one who trained Snoke. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hayden is shown in the trailer, but it looks like it is just following the timeline of generations and as such highlighting the movies all at the same time. That might have started the rumours, because that was my first thought while watching and then you realize it is the timeline not necessarily the movie.

I'm both incredibly pumped and a little sad. Sad that the saga is coming to an end, and excited because it looks bloody awesome! They say the saga is coming to an end, but hopefully that doesn't mean that they will not be coming out with prequils or more movies that happen during the original saga timeline. I just love everything star wars and really want to see it continue.

Rumour has it the next major story arc they’re going to do is going to take place during the Old Republic era. That arc is supposed to span multiple movies, similar to the current saga. On Rey, I think she is going to be Luke's daughter. Which would explain the movies title "The rise of skywalker". Also fits in with her parents leaving her alone on Jakku. I'm thinking her mother died or was killed somehow likely by the empire, which is part of what forced Luke into seclusion on the remote planet, to protect his daughters identity from the empire just like what happened to him and Lea when they were born. and... here is a new smiley to show everybody we have new awesome ones!

It wouldn’t explain why Luke seemed to not know Rey in The Last Jedi. If she is Luke’s daughter, he didn’t know. If Luke knew he had a daughter, Leia and Han would probably know too. She would have been roughly 10 years old while Ben was still Luke’s apprentice, before he went into hiding. Also, they already explained why Luke went into hiding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
