After some review I see that Ben and Rey cannot be twins, but I can't shake that they are brother and sister, everything else fits. Could it be that after Luke's jedi academy disaster that Luke fearing Rey's power which was even stronger than Ben's decided he was not able to teach Rey because of the potential of an even greater disaster. So he decided to kidnap Rey, mind wipe Han and Leia memories and then place her on Jakku also wiping her memory. Feeling monumental guilt he exiled himself for such a terrible crime. The possibilities are endless. If that was the case. Wouldn’t it have been smart to deal with all that while Luke was still alive? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Did you ever read the "Rogue Squadron" books. I think there was 9 books in the series and I think they were broken down to 3 book series in the overall series. Each book could be read as a stand alone also. Anyway they were some of the best books I have ever read, and I have read a lot. Wedge Antilles is the main ace with other major aces inserted as they go.

There was a series of Star Wars books that lasted forever about this war involving aliens that organic based weapons and craft. it was shortly after that that I got fed up and stopped reading them because I didn't like the direction things were going. If you ever get a chance to see the lists of books out at the time, I had read them all up to that point. I had even read the young adult series of books about the Jedi Academy. I owned them all in book form and you should have seen the look on the book dealers face when I brought my whole collection in to redeem for second hand book currency. I was rich......in second hand book currency.

Star wars has been ruined. The new movie will be awful as long as Kathleen Kennedy and her SJW crew are still in charge, in fact I think the series has been damages beyond reclamation.
The characterization of Luke was atrocious. The most hopeful and optimistic character, who found the good in his father and led him to redemption is now a cowardly cynic. The man faced down the Emperor and Vader, at risk of everything because he had a glimmer of hope that his father could be saved. But now at the first sign of temptation in his nephew he contemplates murdering him to the point of standing over him with a drawn lightsaber. This after he hones his abilities and becomes more attuned with The Force. IMO, this alone destroyed the franchise, and yet there were many many other intentional instants of destroying the original trilogy to promote these hollow new characters.
Star Wars is dead and it's not coming back. They even stated their purpose in the new films "Let the past die...Kill it if you have to."

I’m perfectly fine with the direction Star Wars is going, especially now that Kevin Feige of Marvel is in charge of the next trilogy and rumoured to be in talks to replace Kathleen Kennedy as President of Lucasfilm. The Rise of Skywalker is going to be complete fan service because of how bad The Last Jedi was received. The Force Awakens was fine. Yes, it was just A New Hope 2.0, but whatever. It had an Empire Strikes Back writer working on it with JJ Abrams. I’m cool with how it turned out. I was a big fan of Rogue One, and I thought Solo was better than expected. My biggest problem with The Last Jedi was that they gave Rian Johnson complete control. There was no cohesion with the other movies. It didn’t feel like Star Wars one bit. I know you had your issues, and you have every right to fee that way. I didn’t mind the direction it went, I just hated that it didn’t feel like Star Wars. The Rise of Skywalker is going to be fan service. JJ is taking ideas from Lucas’ original story, getting Lucas’ help with finishing the story, and he’s going to be adding elements that bring us back to each of the 6 movies before the force awakens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That's fair, but I think the reason it didn't feel like "Star Wars" was because Luke's hope was the spirit of Star Wars, so when they took that from him, it didn't matter what else happened, it wasn't in the spirit of the earlier films. Hopefully without Rian Johnson it can get back on track. He stated that he purposely "subverted fans' expectations" so that bleak outlook from Luke was on purpose. I almost wish they'd just write that 2nd movie out of canon, and let JJ write a direct sequel to TFA. I felt Rian really missed an opportunity to develop Finn. IMO, having a Stormtrooper break free of his training and indoctrination, and then forge out a new identity was a set up for potentially the most interesting character since the first trilogy. But Johnson made him a background character, without much personality. If I were wishing for a new Star Wars project, I'd want them to adapt the "Heir to the Empire" books. I'm pretty bitter about how Luke was treated, probably since I was 6 when the first movie came out, and it is the first movie I actually remember seeing in the theaters. Fun Fact: (Like Bronco said,) they re-released the first movie to theaters about a year after the release of The Empire Strikes Back, and that was when they added "Episode IV: A New Hope" up until that time the first movie had just been titled "Star Wars" Also for other big fans, a number of years back Dark Horse Comics released a mini series called "The Star Wars" which was based on the first version of the movie script that Lucas had unsuccessfully shopped around. So the main family was still called "StarKiller" and not "Skywalker"

Do you really think The Last Jedi was worse than Attack of the Clones? I don’t. I’d much rather watch The Last Jedi than Attack of the Clones. Attack of the Clones is just as bad as Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern movie. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah I didn't like attack of the clones at all, and maybe taken alone it was a worse movie. But for me TLJ actually strove to ruin things from prior movies. Luke completely out of character was worse than all your Jar Jars and anything could be. I was a Green Lantern comic fan probably even before Star Wars came out, so that GL movie is pretty hard to beat for bad. Did you ever see the animated Green Lantern series that came out a few years ago...it was as good as the movie was bad.

Way to go guys. You guys got me so worked up going to watch the Last Jedi again. I was going to soon anyway, but now seems like a really good time to do it. I can do this because I'm home recovering with nothing else to do. I love it!
Recovering that is, the movie to I guess.
I love I'll be recovered enough to sit through "The Rise of Skywalker" in the theater.

My question, after Luke let his nephew fall to the Dark Side, how was he supposed to feel? He couldn't just brush it off. I could honestly see him feeling rejected and like he was the wrong person to try and start the Jedi Order again. I could see him ghosting and because he would feel like he not only failed Yoda, Obi-Wan, and the whole Jedi Order, but most off all he failed his family and made his sister and best friend lose a son. That's just me though.

Not a fan” instead of “Star Wars Sucks” in a thread where you can clearly see that some big Star Wars fans are in. It would be like a Flames fan coming here to our message board and saying “The Oilers Suck”. We’d all get pissed and call him out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
