It’ll be interesting to see if oilers reclaim him since they have 1st dibs ?? No they don't have first dibs. But they're the only team that can claim him and send him straight down if no other team puts in a claim for him. Almost half the league already passed on him the first time. Those were the bottom teams |

I just watched McDavid's interview and two things impressed me a lot. One is he does not want to talk about last year anymore, it's done let's move on. The other is like I said about Henrique, McDavid's face looks chiseled. It's an indicator of the physical shape he's in, He's ready to go and that's a good thing.

I saw someone else post that as well but I’m confused because when Boston took G patera on waivers from Van, as soon as they put him back on waivers after signing swayman, nucks picked him back up again? But maybe they did what you just said but someone said it was because they had first dibs? I did see on Twitter one of the reporters post that it was the oilers intent to reclaim him so fingers crossed he makes it to them🤞 |

It's an efficiency clause. If a team higher in the queue than the Oilers puts in a claim, the Oilers retain him but he has to stay on roster. |

I think Phillip gets screwed here Maybe, I think he'll be the first call-up when injury strikes, he is so ready afaic. They'll waive Lavoie yet again, hopefully he clears if so.

We can waive him again sure but our opening night roster and cap was set last night with us claiming him back. Someone can correct me if wrong.
So yes absolutely it was a way for another team to screw with us. Lavoie .775k on the books opening night is over 4 times that much come trade deadline as you said. He also has to be on our roster and cannot be sent down to the AHL as originally planned.
